Increasing digitalization, including the proliferation of AI, offers many benefits, both personally and professionally. However, it also poses risks unless handled responsibly.
During this CyberVade session, led by Caetano & Niko Kluyver, participants will be introduced to the growing relevance of cyber resilience in this age of digitalization and AI.
Cyber resilience is a topic of growing relevance for the BES islands and the Dutch Caribbean in general. Opportunistic cybercriminals don’t necessarily target geography, but also easily discoverable vulnerabilities in digital systems.

This session will use a four-color model to explain the broader, relevant spectrum of cybersecurity and cyber resilience:
- The context of digitalization and AI in our society
- Cybersecurity 101
- The criminal side of cyber (how hackers try to attack)
- The offensive cybersecurity measures organizations can take
- Defensive cybersecurity measures
- The organizational side of implementing systems and procedures to increase cyber resilience (‘the tone at the top’)
By the end of this session, you will have a clear understanding of the relevant spectrum of cybersecurity, its relevance, and you will also be given practical steps on how to increase your cyber resilience.
