Bonaire Chamber of Commerce organizes interactive entrepreneurship workshops for MBO students

The Bonaire Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with MBO Bonaire, organized three interactive workshops for various groups of students as part of the annual MBO market. During this market, students are given the opportunity to set up and run their own business on the school grounds for one day.

Business advisor Jían Magdalena conducted workshops on April 13 for the IT & Business Services (37 students) and Service Provision (44 students) groups. A workshop followed on May 7 for the Sports & Pedagogical Staff (31 students) group.

During the workshops, explanations were given regarding the role of the Bonaire Chamber of Commerce and Industry within the local economy, its tasks, projects, and the support it offers to entrepreneurs on the island. Additionally, the business advisor spoke about the importance of entrepreneurship and how students can recognize and solve societal problems with a business idea. Topics covered included the importance of a strong logo and a catchy slogan, creating advertisements, and an introduction to the ‘Business Model Canvas’, a visual framework that clearly summarizes the nine essential building blocks of a business model.

The students were enthusiastic and participated actively in the workshops. There was a great deal of interaction and interest in entrepreneurship and starting one’s own business.

The Bonaire Chamber of Commerce and Industry thanks MBO Bonaire for the trust and the opportunity to host these workshops and will continue its efforts to stimulate entrepreneurship on Bonaire.
