Cooperation covenant between the Bonaire Chamber of Commerce and Business Federation Bonaire

The Bonaire Chamber of Commerce (KvK) and the Business Federation Bonaire (BFB) are going to work together more intensively. The two organizations have concluded a covenant with each other for this purpose, which was signed by the chairmen of both organizations on Thursday, November 24. With the covenant, both organizations want to strengthen the entrepreneurial capacity of Bonaire.

The two parties have an overlapping role in their organizations on socio-economic themes, in the Central Dialogue and in consultation with the various governments. The parties agree to consult with each other periodically, keep each other informed of developments and seek coordination in the representation of the interests of entrepreneurs. They will also jointly draw up an annual program to better coordinate activities. Finally, the parties will hold regular joint consultations and aim to do so periodically with the local government and other relevant bodies as well.

The covenant also states that the parties may jointly appoint a committee to further analyze and investigate specific issues in the socio-economic domain.

The Chamber of Commerce is manager of the Business Register and has a legal task to stimulate Bonaire’s economy through research, consultation and cooperation. The Business Federation Bonaire is the alliance of Bonaire’s employers and through cooperation strives for a sustainable prosperous Bonaire.
