Information session “Stop Being Your Business, Start Building One” encourages entrepreneurs to grow

The Bonaire Chamber of Commerce recently organized the information session “Stop Being Your Business, Start Building One” as part of the Center for Entrepreneurship – The Next Step program. Trainer Ottmar Martie, also a trainer at our Chamber of Commerce Academy, led a group of approximately 25 entrepreneurs during an inspiring and interactive meeting that focused on the importance of business processes.

The session stemmed from conversations with entrepreneurs at The Next Step, which clearly revealed that many struggle to grow their businesses because they are still too bogged down in daily operational tasks. This results in entrepreneurs lacking the time for things like strategic growth. Mr. Martie explained how well-designed processes can contribute to efficiency, structure, and scalability.

During the three-hour session, topics such as conducting an internal audit and describing business processes were covered. The active interaction with the participants, the numerous questions from the audience, and the continued interest in the room afterward underscore the importance and relevance of this topic for entrepreneurs on Bonaire.

Jían Magdalena, business advisor at the Chamber of Commerce, announced that a follow-up session will be organized to delve deeper into specific aspects of the topic. He also invites (semi-)advanced entrepreneurs to contact the Chamber of Commerce Bonaire if they are interested in guidance in growing their business through The Next Step program. The Next Step is part of the Center for Entrepreneurship and is subsidized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (EZ) and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl).
