Retrospective and forward-looking trade mission to Colombia with participants and stakeholders

Friday, September 20, 2024 – The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bonaire (KvK Bonaire), together with the Cabinet Special Envoy, Holland House Colombia, Grand Thornton and a large part of the 30 participants from the BES islands, were present or virtually at the retrospective and forward look at the Colombia trade mission last June 2024.

We are pleased to inform you that a large number of participants have already taken various steps to share both trade and knowledge with entrepreneurs in Colombia. Products are already being imported as a result of the trade mission and knowledge is also being shared with companies in Colombia regarding construction and housing.

Some participants have been to Colombia several times after the mission to conclude deals or further negotiations. Two of these participants gave a presentation to the group about what they have achieved so far. One even announced that he has established a subsidiary in Colombia from which he does business in the Colombian market.

During the session it was announced that there will be a study focused on the logistics challenges from Colombia to the BES islands and what steps need to be taken to address these logistics challenges.

Together with the Cabinet of Special Envoy, the organizations are preparing a trade mission to Panama. An online webinar will be held about this on September 26.
