The Chamber of Commerce is organizing an election debate on March 6, 2023

The Chamber of Commerce will hold an election debate on March 6th with the party leaders following the elections for the Island Council on March 15th. Based on the results of these elections, a new coalition and a coalition agreement will be concluded that determines which direction will be chosen for the island of Bonaire. This means that the elections are of great importance to the population in general and entrepreneurs in particular. The Chamber of Commerce is therefore organizing this debate, so that entrepreneurs can form a better picture of the political parties and their choices.

In the run-up to the debate, the Chamber of Commerce will share statements via Facebook that will be presented to the party leaders during the debate. These propositions are also presented as a choice to all entrepreneurs on the island to serve as input for the debate among the party leaders. Entrepreneurs can indicate through a survey what they consider important for the further development of the economy of Bonaire. The Chamber requests all entrepreneurs to actively participate by indicating their preferences.

The Center for Entrepreneurship, which is housed at the Chamber of Commerce (Kaya Amsterdam 23), has received an assignment from the Ministry of Economic Affairs to further strengthen the entrepreneurial network on Bonaire. This debate is one of the first activities aimed at building this network.

The debate is organized, among other things, to point out to entrepreneurs the importance of the elections for the island’s economy and to strengthen the bond between entrepreneurs and politicians.

The debate will be broadcast in the media both on television and on Facebook. If you would like to attend the debate on March 6 (in the evening 5.30 pm – 9.30 pm at the Courtyard by Marriott Bonaire Dive Resort), please send an email to bis@kvkbonaire.com.
