Bonaire Chamber of Commerce empowers entrepreneurs with workshop on financial management and AI

In light of current global developments, in which entrepreneurs are directly and indirectly confronted with price increases resulting from, among other things, import tariffs, rising oil prices, and higher transport costs, the Bonaire Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KvK) organized a practical information session and workshop in collaboration with Executive Strategy Consultancy (Evert Bleijenberg).

The workshop, themed “Create Value Through Financial Management”, addressed a clear need among entrepreneurs. The KvK notes that many companies have insufficient insight into their cost structure, break-even point, and price elasticity. This lack of insight can lead to hasty and suboptimal decisions during times of economic pressure.

During the session, participants were provided with concrete tools to better respond to price increases and limit their impact on their business operations. The focus was on value creation, financial management, and the use of AI as strategic tools. Financial management, combined with the use of AI, was positioned as an essential key to sustainable growth. Entrepreneurs were encouraged to no longer focus solely on volume, but rather on margin, strategy, and well-considered choices.

During the workshop, participants were guided through topics including:

• Calculating and applying contribution margin and break-even as a steering instrument for profitability
• The importance of value creation as the primary driver for financial success
• Insight into the key financial levers: price, costs, and volume
• Awareness of the impact and opportunities of AI on strategy, organization, and business models
• Practical tools, such as determining price elasticity for better market positioning and pricing strategy
