Helpdesk Legal Minimum Wage (WML)

Kralendijk – The Public Entity of Bonaire (OLB) and the Chamber of Commerce Bonaire signed a cooperation agreement on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 to collaborate in a structural manner in the field of economic development of Bonaire. Through this collaboration, the OLB and the Chamber of Commerce have created a Helpdesk, “Helpdesk WML” to support entrepreneurs and provide insight into the possible consequences of the increase in the Legal Minimum Wage on their business operations. This allows entrepreneurs to take appropriate measures in their business operations in a timely manner without this leading to excessive price increases.

The plan includes a media campaign, information evenings and individual support via a helpdesk. Entrepreneurs can make an appointment with the Legal Minimum Wage Helpdesk where they will receive advice from an independent advisor. This will support them in gaining insight into the impact on their organization and how they can best anticipate this. Information about this will follow in the coming days.

The survey clearly showed that more information is needed for entrepreneurs about the impact and consequences of the increase in the statutory minimum wage.

Building bridges together

“This collaboration is in line with the 2024 annual plan of the Chamber of Commerce, building bridges together on and for Bonaire, whereby the Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with various organizations, companies and stakeholders, stimulates activity on the island,” said Chamber of Commerce director. Phar Martha.

“The increase in the WML also has consequences for companies on Bonaire. Through closer cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce, we aim to provide better information and to provide better and timely insight into possible bottlenecks.

Together we can better face challenges that will benefit us all in the long run. “said Deputy Clark Abraham.”
